2009 All-Broward Athletic Awards

St. Thomas Aquinas High School Athletes and Coaches Honored

The Miami Herald recognized the dedication and athletic excellence of St. Thomas Aquinas High School athletes and coaches this morning at the All-Broward Sports Awards breakfast held at Signature Grand in Davie. Six STA athletes were recognized as the best individual athletes in their sport, and five Raider coaches were awarded "Coach of the Year" status in their sport.

In addition to receiving the national recognition for the #1 ranked football program, Coach Smith was recognized as the Male Coach of the Year and awarded the Boys Trophy for 6A-4A and the Overall Sports Trophy for 6A-4A.

Monsignor Vincent T. Kelly, Principal Mrs. Tina Jones and the entire school community congratulate the commitment to excellence that our student athletes have demonstrated with this achievement. "We firmly believe that the athletic program at St. Thomas Aquinas provides a wonderful complement to the extraordinary academic program that is available to all of our students."
